RETAINED SEARCH is a thorough and intensive process, highly personalized and offered for positions with a starting salary of $60,000 or more.
Our process is initiated by identifying a targeted group of passive candidates (those not in an active job search). We seek out prospects that are gainfully employed, highly successful and not apt to respond to print or internet advertisements. Experienced SHG Associates excel in candidate assessment; considering all factors required tor a successful hire including education, registration, project experience, software proficiency, design skills, personality, ambition, etc. Candidates placed by The Summers Holland Group arrive prepared, knowledgeable and quickly become valuable contributors within your firm.

When retained for a specific search assignment, our Principal meets with the executive responsible for the hiring decision as well as other individuals who will be involved in the selection process. This initial meeting helps establish a thorough understanding of each client’s particular business, operating environment and scope of the position.

Together with our client, a written Position Specification is developed outlining goals, experience requirements, key functions of the position, education, and critical technical skills. Confidential management reports are prepared bi-weekly during the search process. Through research and interviews these reports provide supportive information on candidates, as well as up-to-date industry trends, and current salary levels.

Those who emerge from the screening process as final candidates are presented to our client. Before client interviews are scheduled, a concise written report is presented, containing personal background, professional experience, salary history and career goals. The report also contains intuitive impressions and observations.

Hiring decisions are always made by the client. We act as a liaison between client and candidate to help structure and negotiate an offer of employment that is acceptable to both parties. Once the offer has been accepted, we provide integration assistance to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
